The final request Ronaldo made to his agent before firing him
Cristiano Ronaldo, a Portuguese international football player, reportedly broke off his relationship with his previous agent, Jorge Mendes, after giving him the choice of bringing him to Chelsea or Bayern Munich.
The international megastar allegedly made the demand last summer, according to a bombshell allegation in the Spanish newspaper El Mundo.
“Either you bring me Chelsea or Bayern, or we break up,” Ronaldo allegedly told Mendes.
Ronaldo and United mutually decided to end his contract two days before Portugal’s FIFA World Cup 2022 campaign began after the player gave an explosive interview to Piers Morgan on Talk TV during which he criticized the team and Ten Hag.
For trying to eject him, Ronaldo claimed he felt “betrayed” by club members, and Ten Hag allegedly treated him disrespectfully.
In answer to Ronaldo’s request, Mendes—who won Best Agent of the Year at the Globe Soccer Awards ten times between 2010 and 2020—did contact Bayern and Chelsea to see if they were interested in signing his client.
The two leading teams, though, declined the offer, which led to a falling out between Ronaldo and his agent.
It wasn’t always this way, though, between the two. They were quite close. Since Ronaldo was a teenager, Mendes has overseen his professional development. Mendes is in reality one of Ronaldo’s children’s godparents, according to Ronaldo.
When things reportedly came to an end, Mendes decided he was done putting up with Ronaldo’s demands.
“I can never express my gratitude to Jorge for everything he has done for my family. He began as a friend but evolved into something more, joining my family “Dolores dos Santos Aveiro, Ronaldo’s mother, once stated.
In the meantime, Cristiano agreed to a contract with Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia, thought to be valued more than 200 million euros.
The 37-year-old signed a deal that would keep him working until June 2025.
He led the Riyadh All-Stars, which comprised players from Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal, against Lionel Messi’s Paris Saint-Germain to make his Saudi Arabian league debut.
Despite the former Real Madrid player’s two goals, the Saudi Arabian team fell short by a score of 4-5.
